Leading Cybersecurity, Smartly Countering Threats | Information Security Governance Workshop | Reflective Technology CTO Shares "Attacks are Real, Defense is Distorted"

#Cybereyes CTO Attends Taichung's "Leading Cybersecurity, Smart Threat Defense" Information Security Governance Seminar
discussed with cybersecurity professionals present "Real Attacks, Distorted Defense"—a structural problem long overlooked by the industry, where attackers have already silently infiltrated, yet systems trigger no alerts.
Defense appears complete, but blind spots already exist.
Many enterprises have well-equipped cybersecurity defenses and complete compliance documentation, yet they fall short against real attacks. This session centered on Red Team Operations as its core, analyzing three common phenomena of distorted defense from an attacker's perspective:
- Silent Initial Infiltration: How attacks achieve initial access without triggering critical alerts.
- Unrestricted Lateral Movement within the Internal Network: Devices are present, but behaviors are misunderstood, and incidents are underestimated.
- Delayed Alerts During Data Exfiltration: Insufficient visibility is the root cause, not a lack of tools.
Tracing back attack paths and reclaiming defensive initiative.
The CTO presented a core insight: Tools are not the answer; understanding is the leverage. Defenders must embrace an attacker's mindset, shifting from passive compliance to resilience design centered on real-world validation.
The practical action framework includes:
1. Enhance Visibility — You can only defend what you can see.
2. Consolidate Exceptions — Reduce noise, focus on real threats.
3. Behavioral Correlation — Understand the attack kill chain, not just isolated alerts.
4. Standardize Playbooks — Enable blue teams to respond quickly even under pressure.
Cybereyes Web Detection & Response: The threat detection platform designed for websites.
Facing challenges such as insufficient visibility, gaps in risk perception, and fragmented processes,
Zuin Technology has launched a threat detection and response platform specifically designed for websites, featuring:
- Design logic that integrates offensive and defensive thinking
- Scenario-based behavioral detection engine, corresponding to real attack scenarios
- Comprehensive website traffic validation and anomaly identification
- Asset inventory and risk management, addressing visibility gaps
